Thanks for dropping by!  This event was conceived in the second week of June when faced with a shortage of local Canada Day events.  Our dynamic solution should be entertaining and inspiring for everyone, and YOUR advanced input and participation will make it awesome!

FREE CANADA DAY
CRESTON SHOWCASE

Multimedia Gallery
& Local Exhibits

Noon-5:00pm, July 1, 2025 - Creston Room
Creston & District Community Complex
Creston Experiences and Opportunities:

Featuring 20 large video screens around the room (all with different content that loops about every 30 minutes) the Canada Day Showcase Gallery is easily accessible, allowing about 150 attendees per hour.  Dozens of local organizations are able to have compact exhibits in the centre of the hall.  Washrooms and elevator are nearby, with vending machines in the foyer.

If you do encounter a crowd and can't wait, please be sure to complete an event draw form.  That way at least you have a chance at some decent door prizes...we'll issue the results by email later in the week.  Contact info is not shared beyond the Showcase project management and connecting the winners with their prizes.

It's a Business Gallery Within a Video Gallery.
Enjoy - Happy Canada Day!

Organizations can exhibit their brand message with call-to-action, building goodwill by offering a valuable door prize!

We will provide about 240 linear feet of table display space (typically 4'x1' for a simple free-standing sign and a separate description of the door prize offer).  This is a static display format (unattended), brochures optional.

Only one door prize is required - but something substantial (more than "swag").  Individual ticket holders may only win up to one prize from the dozens potentially available.  We will advise everyone of the results (initials only).  Display materials can be dropped off on June 30th or we can pick them up from you.  Please email us today!

Send us your favourite images and/or video clips via email (linked to a cloud account like Google Drive if quite large).  See the Media 1-3 menu tabs for inspiration!

Topics are wide open (be creative - the goal is to make the audience smile!); Creston Valley context is preferred.  I do have quite a bit of "unpopulated" scenery, so more closeup real people/activities would be great.

Look for things that would be fun or inspiring - test them on friends or family - if they smile, you're good!

High-resolution is best, so if you can send the image file from the device (eg. phone) that created it you can avoid the compression that occurs when sending it as a Facebook attachment.

If someone is prominently or exclusively featured in your content please provide a general release form from them (it will cover all instances of their involvement).

Be selective - pick perhaps the top 20-30 items for this year and we'll try to use some of them

Happy, wow, cute, impressive, hopeful - you get the idea - and tell a friend!

Simply, Independent

My plan is to keep this unique event sustainable as an entirely personal undertaking, without fees or any incremental impact on taxpayers, associations or civic resources.

Thanks to the CDCC, Regional District of Central Kootenay and the Town of Creston for allowing the Canada Day Showcase to be hosted at the Community Complex.

Kudos to Jessica at the Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kelsey at the Creston Valley Advance, and Amy at the Creston Valley Visitor Centre for their help in building awareness!

Considering the very short notice, your early involvement is really appreciated, and I'd certainly welcome any support during the event for guest orientation...it might get busy!
